Endnight Games has announced a Sons of the Forest release date delay, pushing back the launch of this open-world survival crafting game to late 2022.

First announced all the way back in 2019Sons of the Forest is an upcoming sequel to the popular survival game The Forest. Check out one of its trailers to get a feel for its vibe!

There's a lot we still don't yet know about this upcoming game, but it certainly looks like it will deliver on all of the open-world survival crafting mechanics that we loved from the original. And, of course, we'll be able to play it with our friends, too.

Unfortunately, actually getting this game out the door has been somewhat of a challenge for Endnight Games. Sons of the Forest was originally intended to launch in 2021. Then, the release date was delayed to "early to mid 2022." Now, Endnight has made the decision to delay the launch of this upcoming game yet again.

When is the Sons of the Forest Release Date?

The Sons of the Forest release date will now be sometime in October 2022, pushing back the launch of The Forest sequel by five months. A more specific release date has not yet been announced.

"Over these past few weeks, we have realized that our May 2022 release date for Sons Of The Forest was overly ambitious," read a tweet from Endnight Games (via Reddit). "To be able to deliver our vision of the next step in survival games, we’ve decided to move our release date to October 2022"

While it's disappointing to have to wait a few more months, it's probably best to give Endnight Games the time it needs to properly finish this project. For now, you can buy the original The Forest for PC via Steam at the price of $19.99 or your regional equivalent.

I've had a controller in my hand since I was 4 and I haven't stopped gaming since. CCGs, Tabletop Games, Pen & Paper RPGs - I've tried a whole bunch of stuff over the years and I'm always looking to try more!
